Review by hotel critic
Nestled in the heart of the Sierra de las Nieves Mountains, Casa Grande De El Burgo is an enchanting gem that perfectly captures the essence of Andalusian charm. This elegant manor house, steeped in over 150 years of history, offers beautifully restored rooms adorned with the original sloping wooden ceilings that echo its heritage-a delight for anyone with an appreciation for history like me. The spacious room I stayed in was not only comfortable, complete with air conditioning and modern amenities like free Wi-Fi, but also featured stunning views of the surrounding mountains-ideal after a day spent cycling through the picturesque surroundings. The welcoming staff added a personal touch to my stay, ensuring I felt right at home as I explored the local cultural treasures, including the renowned Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos with its charming whitewashed villages. A highlight was enjoying breakfast in the lovely Andalusian-style patio-delicious toast with local ham and a fresh coffee set the perfect tone for a day of historical adventures. For anyone seeking a peaceful retreat to immerse themselves in the authentic culture of Andalusia, you can't go wrong with this remarkable hotel.
